Hi there :)
I have been wanting to post this for quite a while now! But I have been super busy with college, work, assignments, trips and driving.
As most of my posts are lifestyle based, I thought I would mix it up a little and add in some beauty, purely because I love makeup :) Personally one of my favourite brands is MAC, although some people think that their products are a little on the pricey side, they last a long time and the quality is great.
So here are some of my favourite MAC lipsticks:
My first Mac lip stick was crosswires, which is a classic Pink shade. It's perfect for spring, the formula is very creamy and moisturising on the lips, as its a creamsheen formula, unfortunately I find that due to the creamy formula it tends not to last as long on the lips as many of the other formula's.
My second purchase was Hue. This is a nude that would suit any skin tone, it gives you a simple lip that looks good with any look, either if that's bold eyes or natural. I would recommend this for your first buy at Mac, as it is almost a way of getting into the collections without starting to bold. The formula is a glaze, which means it is very light on the lips and has a slight shine to it, it is also long lasting and has a medium coverage.
Viva glam II is a great shade to create the perfect 90's Grunge look. It is made up from cool tones and its formula is satin, this means that it is semi-matte, very pigmented and long lasting. Satins tend to be slightly drying as they are semi matte, but lets face it, that's nothing a little bit of lip balm can't fix ;)
Personally my top favourite is Velvet Teddy. The lipstick has a matte finish, due to this you can switch up your makeup so much as it pretty much complements every look!
You can create a 90's grunge look, with dark shadow and winged liner, or even a more natural approach, with minimal makeup, this lipstick will no doubt finish off the look!
This is a lipstick that would suit any skin tone, yet it can look completely different on someone else. With its nude brown under tones topped with a hint of muted plum, the lipstick can look darker on some skin tones. Paired with Mac's lip liner in Boldly Bare, you can create the perfect crisp edge, either if it's following the shape of your natural lips or slightly changed. This couple work perfectly together, when applying this lip stick, you may want to apply a lip balm before or after, as it's formula is matte. This can be very drying on the lips and can come across as flaky if not maintained throughout the day.
Don't be afraid to experiment with new colours, try something new.
You might surprise yourself!
